WALK ACROSS TEXAS 2007

Team "Firewalkers" from Fire Station #10 walked the Most Miles across Texas and McLennan County during the 8 weeks of the program

Firemen Steve Kroll and Kerry Thomas both walked over 800 miles individually across Texas during the 8-wk challenge!!


         The Walk Across Texas walking program was held for 8 weeks this fall for City of Waco Employees. 17 departments participated consisting of 39 teams and 297 participants - approximately 20% of the City's workforce! As a worksite employees walked 57,893 miles. Starting from Waco the city walked an equivalent of 3 times around the world and back!

        

         The prizes were announced on December 18th at the celebration. To view the ranking list click here . If you were not present to pick up your certificates and prizes please contact us to schedule a pick-up time or drop by the office. As part of the program all team members are required to do a post-assessment. Please have team members complete the wrap-up form. It can be filled out electronically and e-mailed to christines@ci.waco.tx.us or can be faxed to 750-5840.

If you would like to keep up with your weight loss after the Walk Across Texas ends we have a program called Maintain, No Gain . This is open to all city employees, their friends, and family. If you are interested, stop by the Health District to weigh. We will re-weigh after 6 weeks on Monday, January 28th. Those who maintain or lose weight will be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Target! For more information contact us .
