Mission
Statement: To prevent and manage diabetes in Central Texas
by improving the quality of education and services to persons with
diabetes.
Goals:
Our goals
as a community coalition is to create a forum that would allow local
diabetes educators to:
- Exchange teaching tips, tools, and resources
- Receive updates on the latest standards of diabetes
care
- Partner together on diabetes prevention and management
community projects.
Membership:
The Heart
of Texas Diabetes Educators coalition is a partnership of diabetes
professionals from Hillcrest Hospital, Central Texas Veterans Hospital,
Texas Agrilife Extension Service, and the Waco-McLennan County Public
Health District. Certified or lay diabetes educators as well as
other Healthcare Professionals are welcome to join.
